1 In 7 Children In Uganda are Living with a Disability

Many of them have never received the therapy services that they desperately need to live full, meaningful, and happy lives.

Hope Speaks comes alongside families and children with disabilities to provide speech, language, feeding and physical therapy to inspire hope and raise voices in Uganda.

We wanted to take a moment to thank you for your support in 2022. What a year it has been!

Justice
When we spent time praying and thinking about a theme for this year, we continually came back to “justice”.
COVID Relief

Candice is Hope Speaks’ resident Australian and has been working with us for over a year, looking after communications and media from the Uganda office. Her background in Social Science, Research and Education drives her passion to see data brought to life. Where some people see statistics and numbers, Candice sees people and purpose. We hope you are moved by her blog today.

Hope Speaks Winter Newsletter 2020
In this newsletter, we wanted to share with you a personal story from one of our passionate Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP), Deborah!
HOPE SPEAKS' COVID RESPONSE
Like so many other countries around the world, Uganda has been hit with restrictions and lockdowns to reduce the spread of this virus. Unlike many other countries, however, these restrictions have meant that families have lost their only source of income.
Spring 2020 Newsletter
We’re deeply honored to share an update with you of what’s been going on at Hope Speaks since the beginning of the year. God is moving through Hope Speaks more than we ever dreamed possible.
Greetings from Uganda!

Dear Friends,

Happy holidays from Hope Speaks! We are so grateful for your partnership and support of our daily work, which brings us to countless clinics and homes in Uganda each year. We are privileged to visit communities in need and encouraged to know people like you, around the world, are lifting us in prayer. This year has been one of pruning, sowing deep roots, and honing in on the vision and mission of Hope Speaks.

Meet Geoffrey!

Geoffrey is one of our newer clients at Hope Speaks, but we are so proud of the progress he’s made already, and couldn’t wait to share his story with you. He is a 27 year old, former speed skating champion in Uganda. In October 2015 though, he was out for a bike ride along the rode & was hit by a van traveling at a high speed. The crash threw him into a coma for 2 weeks, & during that time, he also suffered from a stroke. When he woke up, his ability to understand what was said to him was not affected, as well as his ability to read & write full sentences.
